| 「待つ」ことの意味 堺ブロックチーム Fr.春名 昌哉 今年も12月1日から待降節に入ります。教会は新しい1年のスタートを切ることになります。 私たちは今、待降節を過ごしています。人となられたキリストが私たちの元へ来てくださるのを待っています。ところで、待降節の「待つ」という言葉には二つの意味があります。一つ目は最初に触れたようにキリストが私たちの元へ人となられて来られるのを「待つ」こと、そしてもう一つは終わりの時にキリストが再び私たちの元に来られるのを「待つ」ということです。 この時期、私たちはふさわしい心で降誕祭を迎えるための準備をします。それは同時にキリストの再臨を待つための準備をすることでもあります。キリストは地上に来られ、私たちが自らの罪を認め回心し、神の元へ立ち返ることを望まれました。主はそのために私たちが何をなすべきかを示してくださいました。 待降節に私たちがふさわしい心を準備して「待つ」ということは、このキリストが示してくださった道を再確認し、主に従う心を新たにすることです。それは自己中心的に生きることではなく、神の望みを私たちがこの地上に実現していくための歩みです。神が私たちに何を望んでおられるのか、そして私たちが何をなすべきなのかをみ言葉によって黙想し、識別する必要があります。私たちの周りにおられる最も小さな人々の中にキリストを感じ、その人々のために自分ができることを精一杯行うよう心がけ、そしていつ主がこられてもいいように、私たちの心をふさわしく準備しながら待ちましょう。 2019年も今月を残すだけとなりました。今年1年、神から与えられた豊かな恵みに感謝しつつ、新しい年もまた神の恵みの内に生きることができるように祈りましょう。そして私たちが神からいただいた恵みを自分だけのものにすることなく、多くの人々とその喜びを分かち合い、共に支え合い、助け合って生きる決意を新たにいたしましょう。 The meaning of “Waiting” On December 1st, the Church begins a new Liturgical year with the season of Advent. The Advent season is usually characterized by a wave of joyful expectation. The Church joyfully prepares for the commemoration of the birthday of our Lord, who became man and lived among us. In fact, the word “Waiting” or “expectation” which resounds in Advent has two meanings. The first meaning is, as I said in the beginning, we are waiting for Jesus’ birth and then, the Son of God was born and dwelt among us. Advent is a season which prepares us for Christmas. The second meaning of “ waiting” is the second coming which will take place on the day when Jesus Christ will come in glory. During this season, The Church invites us to be ready, to prepare our heart not only for Christmas, but also to be ready in the expectation for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Incarnation, Jesus came to share our human lives that we might share His divine life. The Son of God was born and dwelt among us, becoming like us in all things except sin. There is an invitation to conversion in order to do what Jesus taught us. Advent is a time during which we are called to prepare our heart, to follow Jesus Christ and to rediscover what Jesus came to teach us. It is first of all a matter of not being self-centered, but instead accomplishing the will of God while journeying on this earth. We can discover the Will of God through the meditation of the Word and discernment. As Christians, we have to see the presence of Jesus Christ in the littles ones, the “least” among us. For this reason, efforts have to be made during this time when we are waiting for the coming of our Lord; so that whenever our Lord will come, we will be ready to welcome Him. This is the last month of 2019. As we give thanks to God for his wondrous deeds and grace granted to us, we pray that we may continue to live in God’s grace. We have to allow ourselves to be moved by the grace of God and God’s goodness, to share the joy of Christmas with many people and to support each other. |
